The accident left Emilio and his wife, Milagros Olazabal, responsible for raising their granddaughter, Diana Ysabel Olazabal.
The loss deeply affected the family.
Yet Emilio chose not to allow grief to dismantle the humanitarian mission that his children had believed in. Instead, he ensured that the medical outreach programs connected to the Olazabal Medical Group continued and even expanded.
