The Young Mansion of Toboso, Negros Occidental

The Young Mansion of Toboso stands at the center of the Young family’s historic sugar plantation in Negros Occidental. Built in the Spanish colonial style using thick stone walls and wide verandas, the mansion reflects the quiet authority and long-standing legacy of the Young family in the region.

Surrounded by vast sugarcane fields, the estate includes two swimming pools, a small natural lake, and landscaped grounds that soften the imposing structure of the old plantation house.

One of the most beloved parts of the estate is a garden commissioned by Conrad Young for his wife, Cherrie. Designed as a peaceful place for afternoon tea, the garden includes a small rambutan grove and a rose garden of approximately five hundred square meters. After Conrad’s passing, Cherrie later added several Balayong trees to the grounds, bringing soft blossoms to the garden during the flowering season.

Over time, the mansion has become something of a quiet landmark in the town of Toboso. When the family is away, parts of the estate are occasionally opened to visitors who wish to see the historic house and its gardens.

It was within this home that Sandra Young was born, forever linking her story to the ancestral residence of the Young family.
